  • Delivery Elves - Starting 12/13 (flexible hours/days)
Pick up gifts from host companies, driving either a rented truck or your own vehicle. Hundreds of bank branches need their gifts picked up and delivered to our warehouse. Many branches are open on Saturday mornings. Pick up area is anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • Seasonal Data Entry Elves - 12/5 - 1/08
We need volunteers to enter data from donors into a database and generate a thank you letter. Rapid turn-around of our thank you letter
s are vital for allowing us to continue to help those in need. We can use up to 2 people at any one time for this job and ask that you are available to volunteer for a minimum 2 hr shift and for a total of 8 hrs over any 3 or 4 days. Please contact us if you are interested in helping in this way.
  • Warehouse Clean-Up Elves - 12/22 - 12/30
Help us organize and prepare the warehouse to receive the expected 50,000 gifts. Hang signs, rope off areas, general cleaning & sweeping, etc. Contact the office for hours.
  • Gift Sorting Elves - 12/15 - 12/22
Sort and package the gifts according to the children's specific wishes. Lots of fun!!!

  • Clean up Elves - 12/26 - 12/31
Help us clean out the warehouse and pack up any late gifts for use next year. Great job for youngsters and those with energy. 12/31 is the listed end date, but once it's clean, we're out of there, so let us know if you're interested in helping with this and we'll let you know if we're done early.
  • Supervisor/Angel Elves - 12/6 - 12/31

We need supervisors to help in the warehouse.  If you would like to be an Angel Elf, we ask that you go to a training session that will last 30 minutes.  You can then help answer questions for groups of 25+ volunteers, helping supervise groups and checking Santa's list to make sure it is done correctly.  Look below for the times of the trainings.

                   -Thursday, December 9th at noon

                   -Thursday, December 9th at 6:00 p.m.

                   -Saturday, December 11th at 3:00 p.m.

                   -Monday, December 13th at 6:30 p.m.

                   -Tuesday, December 14th at 6:30 p.m.

A minimum commitment of 2 hours is requested for each position. Groups of volunteers are welcome. The warehouse is not child-proof, so younger volunteers will have to be strictly supervised. In addition to the tasks listed, volunteers act as site coordinators for corporate sponsors that host giving trees.

For warehouse work, wear layers. We are never sure what temperatures to expect. Most years we are working on concrete floors and suggest comfy shoes. We always have Culligan water available but snacks and food are not provided. If you are hosting a group of volunteers, a space can be made available for you to have a meal (pizza/sandwiches etc.) if you notify us in advance that you would like one.

Dream Catcher Catering

Dream Catcher Catering is the official Family Giving Tree food provider. They will have a snack café set up at the warehouse. They can also cater for your group with prior arrangements. Please find the menu and email contact David Lee at dce_y2k@worldnet.att.net. We just found out that PayPal is one of the payment options!  To see a menu of what Dream Catcher Catering will be offering, click HERE.

Please contact us if you would like to know more about volunteering.
