Backpacks Distributed in 2011!
Their future...it's in the bag!
In the seven Bay Area counties FGT serves, more than 380,000 children are enrolled in the Federal Free or Reduced Price Lunch Program. In 2011, together with our community, we helped 14,200 of these children by providing them with a new backpack containing the tools they need to succeed.

This program operates much like the Holiday Wish Program; wish cards are sent to host companies, groups, organizations or schools to be displayed on our colorful posters. Individuals have two ways to participate: take a card and shop for a new backpack and fill it with the recommended school supplies or provide funds either by mail or online and we will purchase the items. We collect and sort the backpacks, and distribute them to low-income students via teachers and school service agencies.
