The Family Giving Tree

Thank You Letters

Pretty Holly

These are letters that we have received from some of the people we have helped.

They make us feel good, remind us why we work so hard and we wanted to share them with the people that helped us help others.

To all of the amazing people associated with and working through The Family Giving Tree!

This Holiday season was especially wonderful for 70 foster children because of you!  We at Families That Care FFA were especially shocked, honored and grateful to see the magnificent gifts that you and your donors collected this Christmas season.  You went over and above anything we could imagine.  Not only did the children receive exactly what they asked for (which in the case of foster children seldom happens), but the gifts were beautifully wrapped and thoughtful.  One girl especially wanted a "black puffy coat" which I suspected might be over the $30 limit, but I included the request anyway, and what she received was the most beautiful coat she could have imagined...exactly what she wanted.  As the social workers visit the children in the homes on a weekly basis, we see them wearing the necklaces, listening to the CD players, and playing with the action figures.  Several children have labelled shirts that were given to them by The Family Giving Tree "their favorite shirt", (wearing it several times a week!) which is a testament to how carefully their gifts were chosen this year.  In many cases, your donors are giving our children one of the few gifts that they will receive during this Holiday season, and we at Families That Care are so grateful that the gifts are not purchased with haste, but the men and women take it seriously and chose the gifts with love.  We are blessed to be working with you, and the Christmases of so many needy children are enhanced because of you and your donors. Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

J. G. , Social Worker

To whom it may concern:

Being that it is the Holidays, The Family Giving Tree deserves some much needed respect.  Many people in the U.S. have been participating in such non-profit organizations such as Adopt a Family, Toy for Tots and this organization for years and I have observed the large amount of growth, popularity and attention these organizations have received.  The media portrays the Holidays as being a time for being happy, because you are receiving presents that you have wished for all year long and are finally able to get.  Many families cannot afford a lot of the possesions that they either need or desperately wish for to make their Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa complete.  Small children especially don't see past the materialistic part of the Holidays and The Family Giving Tree lets a young child, who is not priviledged with a family who can afford to shower he or she in gifts or even clothes that are appropriate for the weather this time of year, receive material goods and recourses that they need or want.  The amount of work, heart, and dedication the people of The Family Giving Tree put into helping everyone have a magical and happy Holiday is phenomenal and heroic.  This organization serves as a real Santa Claus, making a difference in families lives, making the Holidays, as they should be, cheerful!  Thank you to everyone at this organization, because of you, thousands of children had a much better Holiday because of everyone who has contributed.
