Warehouse Volunteer Shift Details
A minimum commitment of 2 hours is requested for each volunteer shift, but if we can find more work for you to do on the day you volunteer, we'd love for you to stay! Date and shift start time details can be found on our volunteer shift sign up page.
Training materials will be provided during your volunteer shift that explains each step of the warehouse process. These cards are step-by-step visual guides that will help you and your group know exactly whats going on!
General Warehouse Duties
Volunteers will be asked to help in various ways at the warehouse. Usually these tasks are decided immediately before a group arrives, so we are not able to predict what you or your group will be doing in advance. Be prepared to help in the following ways:
Things you should know BEFORE volunteering!
Attire: For warehouse work, wear layers. We are never sure what temperatures to expect, but it's usually HOT in the summer and COLD in the winter! We also suggest comfy shoes, most of our activities do not include sitting.
Snacking: We always have Culligan water available! Snacks and food are available for sale from Gold Rush Catering during the Holiday Wish Drive. If you are hosting a group of volunteers, you are welcome to bring your own food and we will set tables up for you. Gold Rush Catering is also able to cater your event for the Holiday Wish Drive, click here for details!
Little Elves: Little Elf volunteers are welcome, but remember the warehouse is not child-proof so younger volunteers must be strictly supervised.
Additional Information
We are fortunate to have volunteers with such big hearts and tremendous dedication to our mission. A special offer for warehouse volunteers.
Our warehouses are usually cold and not carpeted and we cannot provide chairs. Persons with disabilities or those that may need special attention should contact the volunteer coordinator in advance.
